The investment casting process consists of two parts which may be considered separately with the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods.
Melting: Electrical resistance, flame or induction melting. Induction melting is the most versatile method and therefore widely used.
Casting: The kind of applying a force subdivides the methods into two groups - static casting with pressure and vacuum assisted methods, and centrifugal casting.
