Solvent-induced nerve damage is described in general terms. “Avoidance of nerve damage,” the basis for the new OSHA limits on solvent vapors in workplace air, is discussed, and symptoms of nerve damage are reviewed. Neurotoxic hazard information is advocated as an effective means of reducing employee exposures to solvents.
