1991 - Think Like a Thief
Our discussion today critiques crime techniques developed by real criminals and successfully demonstrated in attacks against jewelry industry victims during the past two years.
In relation to each incident, we suggest one or more defenses which will deter, detect, or defeat these criminal attack techniques. However, you must think like the thieves who are actually exploring your security defenses, looking for any weakness they can cash in on. You must "believe" these crimes can happen to you, as they have to others in this industry, and, knowing this, you must take effective steps to eliminate any weakness in your security defenses. The success or failure of your efforts contributes either to an image of strength or vulnerability as the criminal world perceives the jewelry industry. Don't give them encouragement to attack.
