Fine pavé diamond setting is an art which sets the standard for all other levels of production bead setting within the jewelry industry. By exploring the techniques and skills used in fine pavé diamond setting a knowledge base is formed for the development of production techniques which can be applied to jewelry of all kinds.

This study will direct its attention towards a review of setting techniques and tools used in the pavé setting process bringing together a complete overview of how fine pavé setting is achieved and the technical knowledge needed to judge its quality.

This study will be demonstrated in three sections. The first will be a description of the tools and materials used in pavé diamond setting, the second will focus on the preparation of the tools and the third will be devoted to the actual step by step process of pavé setting a piece of jewelry.
