Wax patterns of jewelry pieces are attached to a tubular post (hollow tree), and, using the static pour, pressure/vacuum assist casting equipment, we use a hollow tree in the investment casting of gold, silver, and brass.

This method is an improvement over the use of solid tree, due to the reduction of material used in the center post. With the larger diameter, more surface area is available for use in the attachment of more pieces. The energy requirements and the scrap metal losses are greatly reduced. In short, less gold, silver or brass is used to cast more pieces per tree.
