1997 - Design and Casting: The Tale of Symbiotic Relationship

$0.00

The dictionary defines "symbiosis" as a mutually advantageous relationship.

The last fifty years have shown us how the improvements in jewelry manufacturing brought about by lost wax casting have given greater freedom to designers and this in turn has advanced the proliferation of casting as a primary skill in the manufacture of jewelry.

This relationship also imposes upon the designer the duty to become fully cognizant of the techniques which lead to fine castings and in turn the caster is forced to extend the reach of his skill in order to keep up with the growing freedom exercised by the designer.
