Regardless of whose investment powders used in casting of precious metals it is critical that certain processes are followed to insure consistent quality of mixing, burn-out and casting. Without proper procedures it is hard to evaluate failures that may be caused by error in the workplace or problematic investments. This paper will detail methods for evaluating investment powders prior to use in manufacturing and help establish procedures to ensure that variables are minimized. Casting rejects can be reduced and production increased with the use o f these simple procedures of evaluation.
