With its 30+ year history, stone-in-place casting is no longer a novelty in the manufacture of jewelry. Many manufacturers wrongly assume stone-in-place casting techniques can only be used for low-cost jewelry when, in fact, many years of research and development in co-operation with high-end jewelry manufacturers have shown that stone-in-place casting is also suitable for high-end and branded jewelry. This article aims to provide answers to the limits and opportunities of stone-in-place casting, as well as important instructions about the stone-in-place casting process for high-end jewelry.
