Enamel has been used for several thousands of years as a decorative coating and accent to metals. This paper will include a brief explanation of several enameling techniques and when they originated. It will also include examples of jewelry using those techniques. The main focus of this paper will be on the current usage of epoxy resins, which has replaced enamel for many companies in the emblematic and recognition industry. It will include an explanation of the materials used, finishing, safety, and some tips for working with epoxy resins.
