Investment casting is a complex process. Often times in jewelry factories, casters and masters try to figure out what went wrong with the casting process by looking at the very end product. Especially in the last two decades, there have been several drastic improvements and introductions of novel materials and methods such as 3D printed resins, pressurized casting machines with complete elimination of a vacuum pump, additive manufacturing, etc. Along with experience, a complete understanding of various materials and methods would allow casters and masters to perform high-quality casting.
